It’s with great pleasure that Bare West Events wish to announce and invite you to come along to BareCamp 2026. As in previous years the event will take place at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping site near Langport Somerset TA10 0DW (What 3 Words: ///behave.campsites.mere). The event will run from 1200hrs on Monday 7th September till 1200hrs on Monday 14th September, meaning you can enjoy a full 7 days of naturism with friends, in a lovely, relaxed farm setting. ​

​During the week we have organised various forms of entertainment and activities planned along with outside visits which are also naked if you so wish. Typically, the day starts off with breakfast (0800-0930hrs). We then have a real mix of things to do including craft sessions, talks, yoga, music sessions, Petanque, a dog agility contest, zumba, a walk in the local area, airgun shooting, archery, a 5/10k run with all runners receiving a ‘Bare run certificate’ and a fishing contest. In the evening we will be having quizzes, live music and most evenings a silent disco.

 

Monday Night is a Horse Race Night in aid of local charity Somerset Prostate Support Association. Wednesday we have Film, sponsored by Cefnsuran. We have Baron von Schmidt hosting a Bier Keller Night on Friday.  We have booked "Glass Curtain", a Plymouth-based band for Saturday evening. On Sunday we have La Vie En Rose, a Gypsy Jazz Band from Exeter playing whilst we have Pimms on the Lawn (sponsored by Altogether Holidays). On Sunday evening, we have Scarlett Smith, who is a Harpist and Comedienne.

​BarNuda opens at 1200hrs, offering a host of beers, wines and ciders, low- and non-alcoholic drinks, soft drinks. The bar will be open from 1200hrs until last orders with tea and coffee also for sale. Bare West Events reusable plastic pint cups will be on sale at the bar for £2, to reduce waste. Please no glass in the marquees. The bar will be reasonably priced, with some beers at only £4 a pint! Please note that the Main Marquee is a Licensed Premises and therefore only drinks purchased from BarNuda may be consumed in this area. 

 

Shan’s café, Bare Butties will be open from 0800hrs till 1600hrs serving great-value breakfasts, sandwiches and cakes throughout the day again at very reasonable prices. Evening meals are supplied by a different catering firm every night which can be enjoyed together in a communal ‘tea’ which helps foster the friendliness BareCamp has become known for.

The sauna will be available daily from Tuesday on a turn-up-and-use basis. Please check the log burner at the rear of the sauna. 

​

An orienteering course with a twist has been set up around the site - to take part, please go to Reception for more information. We also have air rifle shooting again, and due to popular demand, this year we have Noel's Archery. Other sport activities are scheduled in, including petanque, rounders and badminton. There will also be a disc-golf setup (like a frisbee game), and some giant outdoor games. Plus of course the naked 5k/10k run on Sunday.

The lakes are available for fishing (not swimming). If you intend to use these, you will need to purchase a permit from Thorney Lakes, ensure you have the appropriate Rod License and you must bring a keepnet. We will be having a fishing competition on Saturday morning.

There are daily craft sessions with different things to try out - all are welcome. 

​

The full programme of activities will be posted in Reception and the Main Marquee, with any changes highlighted on a White Board. This website will also be updated with details what's scheduled on each day. There is lots going on, so familiarise yourself with what's happening, but please also be patient if there are any last-minute changes. Some things are beyond our control!

​​If you haven’t been before, Thorney Lakes is an established caravan and camping site with two ablution blocks and all the normal camping facilities you would expect. The whole site can be enjoyed naked with the lakes a must to walk around. We just ask that you don’t go off site naked.​

​

​Lastly Bare West Events Ltd is a group of naturists who give up their time and energy to promote naturism and run the event. All the on-site activities as well as the sauna are included in your admission price with just the outside visits requiring payment. No wages are paid and we seek out as many bargains as possible which allows us to keep costs down, which hopefully you will appreciate in the prices we charge.
