BareCamp 2024

It’s with great pleasure that Bare West Events wish to announce and invite you to come along to BareCamp 2024. As in previous years the event will take place at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping site near Langport Somerset TA10 0DW (What 3 Words: ///behave.campsites.mere). The event will run from 1200hrs on Monday 2nd September till 1200hrs on Monday 9th September, meaning you can enjoy a full 7 days of naturism with friends, in a lovely, relaxed farm setting.

The programme is yet to be fully planned but we will have all the normal activities going on during the week, craft, quizzes, sports, yoga, talks, Virtual Reality gaming, a 5K & 10K run, well-being sessions, fishing, naturist visits to outside locations and generally something for everyone. Universally Challenged will also be back with your host Kevin running the competition. This year we will also be having live music on three nights supported by Dave, Tony and partners who will entertain us till late with silent discos.

We have now firmed up a trip on the East Somerset Railway and are in the final negotiations for a Garden Visit.

Mike, one of the Team, will be running the bar, BARNUDA, which will be open from 1200hrs till late every day with a wide variety of beers, ales, lagers, spirts and soft drinks on sale at very, very reasonable prices. Shân will be running the catering, BARE BUTTIES which gained a 5-star food hygiene rating last year. She will be providing breakfast rolls, drinks, sandwiches and cakes throughout the day. Evening meals are supplied by a different catering firm every night which can be enjoyed together in a communal ‘tea’ which helps foster the friendliness BareCamp has become known for.

If you haven’t been before, Thorney Lakes is an established caravan and camping site with two ablution blocks and all the normal camping facilities you would expect. The whole site can be enjoyed naked with the lakes a must to walk around. We just ask that you don’t go off site naked.

​

Bare West Events will be creating the events area with an even larger main marquee, a new ‘snug’ tent for those who wish to just chat, a new gaming tent and an even bigger craft tent. The sauna trailer will be back and depending on the weather we may even book the ice bath again for those brave souls who enjoy such torture!

Unfortunately, all the electric pitches have already been sold to people on the Bare West mailing list. We do however have charging points and sockets available 24/7 and fridges in the ablution blocks. We intend holding visitor and pitch numbers to the same as they were in 2023 which was requested in the feedback forms we received and therefore we would urge you to book promptly as we did sell out in 2023.

Lastly Bare West Events Ltd is a group of naturists who give up their time and energy to promote naturism and run the event. All the on-site activities as well as the sauna are included in your admission price with just the outside visits requiring payment. No wages are paid and we seek out as many bargains as possible which allows us to keep costs down, which hopefully you will appreciate in the prices we charge.

Initially we will only be taking bookings for the full week to maximise pitches, bookings for day visitors are also open.
